Mexican manufacturing exports rose by 2.7pc in value to $34.4bn in November on an annual basis, bolstering consumption of domestic steel, the National Statistics Agency (Inegi) noted. Mined products exports also increased by 24pc in the same period, the agency noted without disclosing volumes.
Meanwhile, exports of automotive products declined by 1.1pc in value to $12bn in November compared to the same month the last year, due to a 0.3pc decline in sales to the US and 5.1 drop in sales to other markets, Inegi said. Mexico’s car production, however, increased by 1.4pc to 312,184 units in November from 307,756 vehicles in the prior year period.
Mexico’s crude steel production increased by 1.7pc to 1.45mn mt in November this year, from 1.42mn mt in the same period last year, according to the latest figures released by the World Steel Association (worldsteel).
