The Mexico’s Secretariat of Economy has imposed provisional anti-dumping duties on metal zipper imports from China as part of a continuing investigation.
Duties were set at 96.66pc on imports of metal zipper from China, the economic ministry said in a resolution published in the country’s official gazette on Feb 14.
Imports, classified under tariff code 9607.11.01, entered the Mexican market at unfair prices, the resolution read.
The probe was opened in April last year at the request of Cierres y Accesorios BBJ, a metal zipper company.
The investigation will continue, but the Secretariat of Economy gave no estimated timeline for its conclusion.
