Mexico steel exports to the US decreased by 11.8pc to 242,327mt in November of last year compared with the same month in 2018.
The value of the steel exports was $187.7mn in November 2019, down by 16pc compared with the same month in 2018 when shipments totaled $223.6mn, according to data from local media.
Between January and October 2019, the value of the Mexican steel exports to the US declined by 9.7pc to $2.2bn.
While the US imported 1.38mn mt of steel products in November 2019, it was down 35.6pc compared to the same month in 2018. The value of the steel imports reached $1.3bn, which was also down 34.6pc.
Mexico’s steel production fell by 3.6pc in October 2019 to 1.5mn mt, according to figures from local media.
