Indian car manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki’s total production rose to 166,086 units in September, up by 26pc from the prior year and up by 34pc from August.
Total passenger vehicles production, including mini, compact, mid-size, utility vans and vans, in the last month was up by 24pc to 123,837 units from the prior year. Maruti Suzuki had announced that they were ramping up production for the festive season and with sales improving significantly, production ramp up is necessary.
Considering September sales, Maruti clocked a 31pc increase in total sales to 160,442 units compared to the previous year.
The company produced maximum of compact cars as demand for that segment has higher demand.
Ramp up in production of the major car manufactures in India is likely to increase demand for metals used as raw materials and for auto component sectors.
