Chile’s Mining Production Index (IPMin) fell 1pc in June 2021, compared to the same month last year, due to subdued metal mining activity, reported the National Institute of Statistics (INE) of the Andean country.
The index also fell to 96.28 points in June 2021 from 97.25 in the same month last year.
INE added that copper ore extraction and processing operations were low during the same month under review.
The IPMin for metallic minerals production declined 2.3pc to 95.07pc this June compared to 97.31pc during the previous year.
Chile’s copper output dropped 1pc to 2.83mn mt during the first half of 2021, at 2.85mn mt in H1 last year.
