Zorba processor Levitated Metals has started operations at its heavy media floatation plant in New Caney, Texas, which broke ground in January 2020.
The company purchases non-ferrous zorba and refines it to high-quality low magnesium twitch, with its main customers being secondary aluminum producers related to the automotive sector in the domestic market as well as Mexico. The company initially plans to produce around 60,000nt (54,500mt) of twitch per year.
The relatively new company was founded by Ronak Shah, who previously worked with Alter Trading and Schnitzer Steel. David Burlison also joined as the Director of Marketing, in charge of zorba procurement from domestic shredders. He was formerly employed with Real Alloy and Custom Alloys.
