Atlanta, Georgia-based Last Step Recycling plans to invest $46.4mn in a new automotive shredder facility in Chester Technology Park, South Carolina.
According to media reports, the 2019-founded company plans to recycle aluminum and copper scrap from automobiles. The plant will employ 50 people and produce secondary metal which will be used for making appliances, new car parts, and technology equipment.
Last Step expects to begin operations by July 2022 and will start hiring from next Spring. No details have been disclosed about the grades of zorba that the company will produce.
