New York-based venture capital firm KPS Partners has signed an agreement to acquire Italian aluminum extrusions maker Metra Holdings and Metra SpA.
According to Metra’s website, the company has a capacity to produce 90,000mt in aluminum extrusions and 47,000mt of foundry ingots/ recycled scrap ingots per year. The company has sites in Italy and Canada.
This marks KPS’s fourth major acquisition in the past two years. Most recently, the firm purchased Hydro’s aluminum rolling division, Texas-based Harsco Corporation as well as Briggs and Stratton, an automotive parts manufacturer.
Metra’s products serve the downstream markets in building and construction. KPS plans to close the transaction by Q2 2021 but has not disclosed any financials as yet.
