KIOCL’s proposed plan to integrates its backward and forwards projects to the blast furnace in Mangaluru, Karnataka was approved by the union government. 

 

KIOCL is setting up ductile iron spun pipe (DISP) plant as part of the forward integration project of 0.20mn mt per annum capacity with a pulverized coal injection system for the existing blast furnace. For backward integration, KIOCL will set-up 0.18mn mt per annum capacity non-recovery coke oven plant with 10 MW co-generation power plant. 

 

The state-owned company has a planned outlay of Rs836.90 crore ($116.68 million). The company will invest Rs276.17 crore through reserves and balance by debt.
