Kazakhstan’s Kazakhmys Corp decreased ore extraction by 4.2pc to 29.4mn mt in 2020 from 30.7mn mt in the prior year. The 2020 ore production though was 0.76pc up from the target amount for the year. Kazakhmys’ factories processed 31.13mn of ore last year. 

 

The company increased its cathode copper production by 5.1pc to 258,360mt in 2020 and expects output to contract by 5.6pc to 243,800mt in 2021. The 250,000 annual copper capacity output target was initially established in mid-2018.

 

The average copper content of total ore processed was 1pc with a target of 0.94pc in 2020. In 2019, The average copper content in processed ore was 0.94pc while the target rate was 0.90pc. The company improved equipment and processing functions to extract higher quality.
