Kaiser Aluminum’s revenue from its value-added businesses–large commercial aerospace and defense application is expected to reach $2bn in 2021. 

 

Demand from these industries, which form 50pc of Kaiser’s value-added business revenue, may increase by 2023-2024 as the company plans to expand into defense-related programs and business jet production. Kaiser’s annual growth rate is also expected to climb between 2pc and 5pc in the next four years.

 

In H1 2021, the company’s shipments jumped 58pc to 215,003mt compared to 124,284mt in H1 2020. Shipments also increased by 35pc to 152,861 in Q2 2021 from 53,977mt in the same quarter of the year prior. 

 

Kaiser’s net sales in H1 2021 rose to $1.07bn from $645mn in H1 2020. In the second quarter of this year, net sales surged to $741mn from $276mn in Q2 2020. 

 

Operating income in the first six months of 2021 fell to $57mn from $68mn in the same period of 2020. The company’s operating income in Q2 2021 rose to $33mn compared to $21mn in Q2 2020. 

 

Kaiser’s EBITDA also rose to $96mn in the first half of the year, from $94mn in H1 2020. In the second quarter, the firm’s EBITDA increased to $59mn from $34mn in Q2 2020.
