JSW Steel Italy’s subsidiary in Piombino has signed a long term contract with Italy’s Acciaieria di Cividate al Piano (ACP) for supply of 200,000mt billets, annually.
The two companies commenced their partnership two months back as ACP supplied 60,000mt billets to the Piombino plant. JSW plans to increase production through the deal to export higher quantities of finished products. This partnership will provide the company logistic advantage to ship common steel and wire rods to the North African markets.
Formerly known as Aferpi, S.r.l was acquired by JSW Steel Italy from the Algerian group Cevital in 2018. JSW Steel Italy’s monthly output was around 60,000 tons which the company plans to increase to 80,000mt in 2020.
