JSW Ispat forecasts 640,000mt crude steel production in FY2022, while sales are expected to reach 630,000mt.

 

The company formerly known as Monnet Ispat and Energy is rechristened as JSW Ispat Special Products (JISPL) after its acquisition by a consortium of AION Investments (AION) and JSW Steel. Monnet Ispat had entered through Corporate Insolvency Resolution Process (CIRP) as per Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code 2016 (IBC).

 

JISPL has an integrated steel plant at Raigarh and a unit in Raipur, located in the state of Chhattisgarh. The Raigarh plant has a 0.95mn mt annual steel capacity. While the Raipur unit has a DRI-based sponge iron plant with 0.3mn mt annual capacity. The company also has an annual steel melting capacity of 0.25mn mt and 0.044mn mt ferroalloy at its facility at Raipur.

 

Being a part of the JSW Group, the company has easy access to JSW Mines for ore. With a focus on balanced production strategy, 50pc of its steelmaking is through blast furnace route, while the other half is DRI-based.
