Indian steelmaker Jindal Steel & Power Limited (JSPL) produced 614,000mt of steel in November, up 15pc from 533,000mt in the prior-year period.
JSPL’s managing director, VR Sharma, attributed the increased output to improved steel demand in India. He added that demand is slated to continue rising over the next six months and that JSPL will focus on value-added products in the short-term.
The company sales rose 1pc to 562,000mt from 557,000mt in the same period under comparison. In November, JSPL exported 119,000mt of steel which made up 21pc of the total sales. This depicted a 10pc rise in monthly export sales on an annual basis.
