Japan’s ferrous scrap exports declined by 17.9pc (129,589mt) in July to 598,016mt from 727,605mt in the prior-year period.
In the first seven months of this year (Jan-July), Japanese ferrous scrap exports declined by 14.5pc (811,572mt) to 4,800,361mt from 5,611,933mt in the prior-year period.
Japanese ferrous scrap exports to South Korea increased by 79pc to 309,409mt in July from 172,393mt in the prior-year period and was up by 3pc from 299,743mt in the prior month.
Ferrous scrap exports to Vietnam declined by 49pc to 157,219mt from 309,426mt in July 2020 and declined by 37pc from 248,204mt last month.
Japan exported 36,326mt ferrous scrap to China in July, a jump of 1097pc from 3,036mt in July 2020 and a decline of 55pc from 80,490mt in June.
Ferrous scrap exports to Taiwan declined by 79pc to 25,569mt in July from 120,998mt in the prior-year period and declined by 35pc from 39,526mt in June, this year.
