Crude steel production in Italy stood at 2.07mn mt in February, up by 1.6pc from 2.04mn mt in the same month of 2020, according to the Federation of Italian steel companies (Federacciai).
In February, the country produced 1.18mn mt of long steel products, up by 9pc from 1.08mn mt a year ago. Meanwhile, its flat steel output fell by 4.5pc to 891,000mt from 933,000mt in the same period under comparison.
In the first two months of this year as well, production inched up by 1.2pc to 3.96mn mt, compared with 3.92mn mt in January-February 2020.
