Iranian exports of steel products decreased by 23.5pc to 4.53mn mt in the first seven months of the ongoing Iranian year (March 20-October 21), from the prior-year period, according to the Iranian Steel Producers Association.
Of the total exports, semi-finished steel exports were 3.19mn mt, down by 16pc from the prior-year period.
Billets and blooms accounted for the largest share of semis exported with 2.451mn mt, down by 6pc over the previous year period. Slab exports registered a decline of 39pc to 740,000mt.
Among finished steel products, long steel products exported were 1.33mn mt, down by 37pc from a year ago. Exports of flat steel and Sponge iron declined by 37pc and 72pc to 312,000mt and 184,000mt, respectively.
