Iran’s exports of steel reinforcement bars (rebars) in the first ten months (Mar 21, 2020-Jan 19, 2021) of the Iranian calendar stood at 1.48mn mt, down by 22pc from the prior-year period, according to local media reports citing data released by the Iranian Steel Producers Association (ISPA).
In the Mar-Jan period, the country’s rebar imports fell by 17pc to 24,000mt as compared to the same period in the preceding year.
Beams
In the ten-month period, Iran exported 151,000mt of beams, registering a decline of 4pc from the same period in the previous year, while imports for the same stood at 9,000mt, remaining unchanged from the year before.
Angles and studs
In the Mar-Jan period, exports of angles, studs, and other steel sections stood at 159,000mt, down by 18pc as compared to the same period a year before.
Long sections
Iran’s long steel section exports in the Mar-Jan stood at 1.79mn mt, down by 21pc as compared to 2.27mn mt exported in the prior-year period, while imports of the same rose by 51pc to 74,000mt from 49,000mt imported in the same period in the preceding year.
