Iran’s DRI output increased to 2.54mn mt in the first month of the Iranian financial year (March 20 to April 19). DRI output increased by 3pc from the prior month. Iran is the world’s second-largest producer of DRI, after India.
Mobarakeh Steel (MSC) accounted for the largest share of the output with 711,500mt DRI production, up 2pc from the prior year, according to the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization.
The second-largest DRI producer was KSC Steel with 354,884mt output, down 7pc from the prior year.
