Iran’s iron ore pellet production in the first seven months (Mar 20-Oct 21, 2020) of the Iranian calendar stood at 18mn mt, up by 15pc from 15.6mn mt in the prior-year period, according to the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development Renovation Organization (Imidro).
The country’s iron ore pellet output in the 7-month period has witnessed a 3pc hike from its projection of 17.5mn mt.
Of total iron ore pellet output, Gol Gohar produced 7.3mn mt, while Middle East Mines and Mining Industries Development 3.8mn mt of iron ore pellets in the seven months.
Chadormelo and Opal Parsian Sangan Industrial and Mining Company’s iron ore pellet production in the Mar-Oct period stood at 2.1mn mt and 1.9mn mt, respectively.
Sangan Steel Mining Industries produced 1.6mn mt of iron ore pellets in the same period, while Sanabad Mining and Industrial Development Company (SIMIDCO) and Sabanvar’s iron ore pellet production stood at 706,958 mt and 264,131mt, respectively. SIMIDCO had inaugurated its 2.5mn mt annual capacity iron pelletizing plant in June.

In the Mar-Oct period, Iran’s iron ore pellet sales stood at 9.7mn mt, up by 2pc from 9.5mn mt in the prior-year period.
