Ukraine-based Interpipe Steel plant’s (Dnepr) steel production in the first ten months of the year (Jan-Oct, 2020) declined by 13.9pc to 641,000mt from the prior-year period, according to media reports.
In October, the plant’s steel production stood at 62,800mt, down by 2.9pc from September. In 2019, the plant’s total steel output stood at 854,500mt, down by 4.2pc from the preceding year. The total annual round steel billets capacity of the plant is 1.32mn mt.
The Ukrainian metal industry is currently facing a crisis and the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic has affected the sector.
Interpipe Steel is one of the largest electric steel complexes for the production of round steel billets in Eastern Europe and is part of the Interpipe group of companies (Dnipro).
