Ansteel develops steel for nuclear power plant

China-based Ansteel Group developed new 316H austenitic stainless steel product for fourth generation 600MW nuclear power fast reactor plant. The company recently fulfilled its first supply contract. Ansteel will further optimise the production process and reduce production costs and manufacturing cycle. Ansteel group has a production capacity of 39mn mt of raw steel and it has 26 overseas plants. 

 

Tata Steel launches abrasion-resistant steel

Tata Steel has introduced abrasion-resistant steel called hot-rolled Valast 450 in North America in partnership with Steel Warehouse, Tata’s distribution partner in the US, Mexico, Canada and Brazil. The new steel will be offered in lighter gauges and tighter tolerances than plate and especially suited for applications in mining, agriculture, recycling and construction sector like dump and refuse trucks, highway-construction vehicles and earth-moving equipment.
