Real Steel’s to install new high-speed rolling mill 

Philippines-based Real Steel will install one of the fastest rolling mills in its production arsenal, the company announced on Tuesday.

Danieli will supply the drives and process automation system for the new high-speed rolling mill.

The new bar mill will replace an existing mill producing deformed bars in the 10mm to 32mm-diametre range; and 150mm square billets weighing up to 2,000kg. The facility will have a finishing speed of 48m/second onto the cooling bed for 10mm bars.

The mill, installed in Pampanga, San Simon province, Philippines, aims to improve the mechanical properties of the product, in particular, yield strength, and also to minimise input cost.

 

 

JSPL plans to set up steel plant  

 

Jindal Steel and Power could possibly be setting up a steel plant with an annual capacity of 2-2.5mn mt at Patratu. The company hosts a wire mill of an annual capacity of 0.6mt and a bar mill of 1mt per annum with rebar service centre at Patratu.The company is contemplating a blast furnace project in Patratu as the raw material is available and the company would like to produce steel and feed the mills there. The basic engineering has been competed and the right time is awaited to commence, according to statement given to BusinessLine .
