Total auto production in India in March was reported at 2.36mn units, up 67pc from the prior year month, according to data released by Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (Siam).
Passenger vehicles segment witnessed a sharp jump in production of 74pc to 334,349 units in March from the preceding year period which pushed total auto production up. Two-wheeler production rose 68pc to 1.95mn units in March from the prior year month. Three-wheeler production rose 23pc to 73,731 units from the prior year.

Total passenger sales in March jumped 115pc to 290,939 units compared to the prior week, stated SIAM data. Total sales jumped too on the back of high jump in passenger vehicle segment by 77pc in March compared to the prior year.
