Secondary steel mills across India await the final decision as the central government contemplates extending its COVID-19-related lockdown until April end. A few states like Odisha, Punjab , Maharashtra and Telangana among others have already extended it till April 30. In absence of transactions across India, prices remained unchanged with secondary steel mills remaining shut.
Godawari Power and Ispat has partially resumed operations at its Ari Dongri iron ore mine located at Kanker, Chhattisgarh and iron ore pellet plant at Siltara Industrial Area, Raipur.
The daily Davis Index for rebar in Raipur remained unchanged at Rs31,200/mt ($408.91/mt) ex-works. The daily index for billet also remained flat at Rs26,500/mt ($347.31/mt) ex-works.
In Mumbai, the daily index for rebar remained unchanged and settled at Rs33,400/mt ($437.74/mt), while the index for billet settled at Rs28,700/mt ($376.59/mt) ex-works, also flat.
In Mandi Gobindgarh, the daily Davis Index for ingot remained unchanged at Rs29,800/mt ($390.56/mt) ex-works.
