India’s Directorate-General of Trade Remedies (DGTR) has levied anti-dumping duties in the range of $222-334/mt on imports of tin mill flat-rolled steel products from Japan, South Korea, the US and EU. The duties have been levied at the behest of Indian producers who stated imports of the product from the said countries are causing a material injury to the domestic market. A petition in this regard was filed by JSW Vallabh Tinplate and Tinplate in June 2019.

The period of investigation (POI) for the review was between Jan-Dec 2018 while the injury investigation period spanned from April 2015-March 2018 and the POI. The duties levied will be applicable for five years.
