India’s weekly imported aluminium scrap prices remained flat as demand from Indian buyers is yet to resume amid the nationwide lock down enforced till May 03 to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
The Davis Index for 6063 aluminium extrusion scrap and Troma remained unchanged at $1,292/mt cfr India port and $1,268/mt cfr, Friday respectively, from a week ago.Both, buyers and sellers’ markets remain quiet as uncertainty about the timeframe of the lockdown looming. Bookings for aluminium scrap were very few.
The weekly index for Tense and Taint/Tabor also remained unchanged at $934/mt and $939/mt cfr India port, Friday.
The official three-month LME aluminium contract settled at $1,509.5/mt, Thursday, down by $4.5/mt from a week ago, breaking its uptrend since the second week of April.
