Shipbreaking scrap prices in India increased on Tuesday amid healthy demand.
The daily Davis Indexes for 10Ani and 12Ani rose by Rs750/mt ($10.31/mt) each to Rs34,150/mt ($469.47/mt) and Rs34,650/mt ($476.35/mt) ex-Alang, respectively, amid stable demand from the rolling mills in Mandi Gobindgarh and Gujarat.
The daily indexes for 0.5kg, 1kg and 5kg plates also rose by Rs750/mt each to Rs30,050/mt, Rs29,950/mt and Rs32,550/mt ex-Alang, respectively, amid rising demand for finished steel supported by road infrastructure sector getting a push.
The daily Davis Index for HMS attachment and Melting rose by Rs700/mt each to Rs29,750/mt and Rs28,750/mt ex-Alang, respectively. Shipbreakers indicated positive market sentiment.
