Turkish steelmakers exported 1.07mn mt of hot-rolled coils (HRC) in H1 2021 compared with 1.43mn mt in the same period of 2020.
According to statistical source SteelData, flat product supply from Turkey to Italy and Spain fell by 46pc and 34pc to 290,000mt and 148,000mt, respectively, during the period under review.
In the first six months of the year, Turkey shipped 155,000mt of HRC to the USA, 53,000mt to Tunisia, and 45,000mt to South Africa, against virtually no export of the material to these nations in H1 2020.
Flat product supply from Turkey to Iraq amounted to 45,000mt in January-June compared to 50,000mt in the same period last year.
HRC export from Turkey to Greece, Portugal, Belgium, and Bulgaria dropped by 30pc, 42pc, 49pc, and 48pc to 44,000mt, 32,000mt, 30,000mt, and 29,000mt, respectively, SteelData noted.
