Lead production at Hecla Mining’s projects rose by 32pc in the first six months of the year from H1 2019, while zinc production increased by 13pc during the same period.

 

The miner’s lead output rose to 14,870mt in H1 2020 from 11,299mt during the same period last year. In the first six months of the year, Hecla’s zinc production rose to 30,703mt from 27,259mt in H1 2019.

 

In Q2 2020, Hecla produced 8,978mt of lead, a rise of 63pc from 5,515mt produced during the same quarter last year, while its zinc production increased by 34pc to 17,856mt from 13,315mt in Q2 2019. 

 

The company noted in a press release that all its five mines were operational now and the ramp-up in production has helped the US-based miner to strengthen its output and cash flows, paving the way for a stronger Q2 performance compared with the previous quarter.
