Copper and zinc producer, Groupo Mexico expects its 2021 sales volume to grow by 5-7pc and its revenue to increase by 10-12pc this year compared to 2020.
In the first quarter of the year, the company’s copper production dropped by 0.5pc to 271,312mt from 272,646mt in Q1 2020. Its zinc output declined by 14.5pc to 16,466mt compared to 19,263mt during the same period under review.
Copper sales volume in Q1 2021 however increased by 2.4pc to 272,008mt compared to 265,511mt in the same quarter last year. Zinc sales in the first quarter dropped by 56.7pc to 12,514mt from 28,885mt in Q1 2020.
The firm’s consolidated sales including other metals like gold and silver rose by 40pc in Q1 2021 to $3.4mn from $2.4mn in Q1 2020. Its EBITDA in the first three months of the year was up by 99.7pc to $2.1mn compared to $1mn in the same quarter last year.
