US automaker General Motors’ sales from its Chinese partnerships increased by 5.2pc to over 750,000 vehicles in Q2 2021 following increased demand of its luxurious sports-utility vehicles and multipurpose cars.
Sales for GM’s large luxury SUV, the Cadillac XT6, jumped 42pc to around 10,000 units, whereas demand for the GL8 premium, a multi-purpose vehicle rose by 40pc to 45,000 units.
GM is currently working on its Ultium battery technology which will be used in an all-electric SUV that is expected to go on sale in early 2022.
