General Motors will resume production of full-size pickup trucks at its plants in Flint, Lansing and Fort Wayne, beginning Monday, Aug 2.

According to media reports, the plants, which were shut in the last week of July due to semiconductor chips and parts shortages, will now resume their assembly lines. The Flint plant in Michigan, the Lansing facility in Spring Hill, and the Fort Wayne, Indiana plant will now resume output after supply chains have been restored. These plants manufacture Chevy Blazer and Equinox, Cadillac CT4 and CT5 as well as the Buick Enclave, among other models.

Many secondary aluminum ingot sellers noted that demand from the auto industry has been growing after the chip shortage subsided this month. In Q4 2021, pent-up demand is expected to be realised, leading to a boom in sales.
