German crude steel production declined by 10pc in September to 3.02mn mt compared to same month in 2019, according to the German Steel Federation (WV Stahl).
In the first nine months of 2020, crude steel output declined by 15.7pc to 25.7mn mt from the same period last year.
Hot rolled steel production in Jan-Sept decreased by 14.8pc to 22.5mn mt compared to the same nine-month period in 2019, and also dipped by 6.3pc in September to 2.67mn mt from the year before.
Germany witnessed a 18.3pc drop in its pig iron output to 16mn mt in the first nine months of 2020 compared to the same period last year, and it decreased by 11pc to 1.8mn mt in September from the same month in 2019.
The country’s electrical steel output in the first nine months of 2020 fell by 7.3pc to 8.5mn mt compared to Jan-Sep 2019. However, Germany’s electrical steel production increased 2pc to 1.1mnmt last month over September 2019.
Oxygen steel output decreased by 19.4pc to 17.2mn mt from January through September on an annual basis, and dropped by 15.4pc in September to 1.9mn mt.
