Germany’s manufacturing new orders grew by 78.9pc in April this year compared to April 2020 and dropped by 0.2pc from March this year, according to the Federal Statistical Office of Germany (Destatis).
The country’s domestic orders fell by 4.3pc while foreign orders saw a 2.7pc growth in April, compared to the previous month. New orders in the Euro area were up by 0.7pc and orders from other countries grew by 3.8pc in April, on a monthly basis.
Destatis reported that manufacturers of intermediate goods saw a 1pc drop in new orders in April from March while new orders of capital goods rose by 0.2pc and consumer goods saw a 1.4pc increase in April on a monthly basis.
