The European Commission (EC) has initiated the first anti-dumping (AD) sunset review investigation on ductile cast iron tubes and pipes imported into the European Union (EU) originating from India, the commission said in a notification on March 17, 2021.
The commission will be reviewing whether the withdrawal of the existing anti-dumping measure will continue damaging or again harm the domestic industry or not.
The products subject to the review are tubes and pipes of ductile cast iron, also known as spheroidal graphite cast iron. The investigation excludes tubes and pipes of ductile cast iron without internal and external coating.
The products involved in the investigation fall under CN codes ex 7303 00 10 (TARIC code 7303 00 10 10) and ex 7303 00 90, (TARIC code 7303 00 90 10).
The application was lodged by Saint-Gobain PAM, Saint-Gobain PAM Deutschland GmbH, and Saint-Gobain PAM España SA, representing the domestic producers of tubes and pipes of ductile cast iron on December 21, 2020.
The investigation period was from January 1, 2020, to December 31, 2020, and the injury analysis period was from January 1, 2017, to the end of the period of review investigation.
