The European Commission (EC) has imposed definitive anti-dumping (AD) duties on hot-rolled coil (HRC) imported into the European Union (EU) originating in Turkey, the commission informed in a statement.

The duties range from 4.7pc to 7.3pc, depending on the manufacturer.

The definitive AD duty for Turkish HRC producer Erdemir was set at 4.9pc, while for Habas, it was set at 4.7pc.

Manufacturers Ağır Haddecilik and Borçelik were subject to 5.6pc of anti-dumping duty, while Çolakoğlu Metalurji and all other Turkish companies were subject to 7.3pc of anti-dumping duty.

The definitive anti-dumping measures will take effect from July 10, 2021.

The investigation was based initiated based on a complaint filed by the European Steel Association (EUROFER) on May 14, 2020.

The products involved in the probe fall under customs classification codes 7208 10 00, 7208 25 00, 7208 26 00, 7208 27 00, 7208 36 00, 7208 37 00, 7208 38 00, 7208 39 00, 7208 40 00, 7208 52 10, 7208 52 99, 7208 53 10, 7208 53 90, 7208 54 00, 7211 13 00, 7211 14 00, 7211 19 00, ex 7225 19 10 (TARIC 7225 19 10 90), 7225 30 90 , ex 7225 40 60 (TARIC 7225 40 60 90), 7225 40 90, ex 7226 19 10 (TARIC 7226 19 10 90), 7226 91 91 and 7226 91 99.
