Lincolnshire, UK based lead acid battery recycler Enva, plans to expand its site’s storage ad processing capacity by 50pc to over 36,000mt of batteries per year.

The company noted in a statement on Jul 1 that the expansion includes the addition of new handling and processing lines as well as an incoming reception, weighbridge and recovered product storage. The facility has also upgraded its environmental licenses to accept other battery types and handling more volume in case of an annual output surge.

Arvydas Pocevicius, the company’s general manager, stated that with the expansion, fewer batteries will require being exported for treatment, aiding in additional savings on carbon emissions while creating 12 new jobs at the plant.
