Ukrainian steel plant Elektrostal’s billet output in September declined by 45pc to 6,000mt from 11,000mt in August, according to media reports.
In the Jan-Sep period, the company maintained its billet production at 73,000mt, similar to the prior-year period. The steel mill was idle from January to mid-March last year and then resumed operations at one-third of its capacity.
Elektrostal is a mini-electric steel plant and produces square billets. It began operations in 2008 and belongs to the Donetsk Metal Rolling Plant (DMPZ) group.
