Ukraine-based Dnipro Metallurgical Plant’s (DMZ) steel and rolled products’ production in September 2020 remained flat compared to the prior month at 28,000mt and 22,000mt, respectively, said media reports. However, cast iron production rose by 4pc to 25,000mt from 24,000mt in August 2020.
The company produced 71,000mt of rolled products, 91,000mt of steel, in Jan-Sep 2020 period, down by 83pc and 82pc, respectively from the prior year period. The company produced 87,000mt of pig iron in the given period.
DMZ’s metal shipments in Sep rose by 38.8pc to 15,700mt. In October, the company has announced a temporary shutdown of production facilities for refurbishment amid weak demand for steel.
DMZ is part of the DCH group engaged in production of semi-finished products and shaped rolling: channel, corner and rails.
