Dniprovsky Integrated Iron and Steel Works’ (DMK) pig iron production was flat over the first six months of the year. The company’s crude steel output, however, decreased during this period.

 

In January-June 2020, the Ukrainian iron and steelmaker produced 1.21mn mt of pig iron, unchanged as compared to the same period in 2019, according to a statement issued by the company. Its crude steel output decreased by 3.7pc to 1.309mn mt during the same period under comparison, while steel product output increased by 2.6pc to 384,883mt.

 

In June, DMK produced 234,366mt of crude steel and 210,438mt of pig iron, according to the statement. The company’s total shipments to consumers decreased by 2.3pc to 237,007mt in June compared to the same month last year.
