Atlanta-based Delta Airlines has exercised its right to purchase 30 more Airbus A321neo’s, taking its total orders for the narrow-body model to 155 units. 

 

According to a release by Delta, it already operates 121 units of the large gauge model–A321ceo. The new orders are expected to begin rolling into operation at Delta in H1 2022, continuing until 2027. Many of the aircraft will be produced at Airbus’ facility in Mobile, Alabama. 

 

Until this point, Delta has taken delivery of 87 domestically manufactured Airbus jets since 2016. The airline indicated that it still has 70 purchase options available for the A321neo model, under its contract with the carrier manufacturer.
