Davis Index: Market Intelligence for the Global Metals and Recycled Materials Markets

Czech Republic’s export prices rose by 1pc in the first five months of the year and import prices saw a 1.5pc increase compared to the same period in 2020, according to Czech Statistical Office (CZSO). 

 

Export prices decreased by 0.2pc in May while import prices rose by 0.1pc on a monthly basis. 

 

In the January to May period, export prices increased mainly because of a 34.7pc increase in metal scrap exports and other commodities. However, machinery and transport equipment exports fell by 2.2pc annually.

 

Import prices increased in the first five months of the year, particularly because of higher metalliferous ores and metal scrap imports by 17.8pc while machinery and transport equipment saw a 6.4pc drop annually. 

 

In May, machinery and transport equipment exports saw a 0.9pc decline compared to April while metal scrap along with other products saw a 4.5pc rise in export on a monthly basis. CZSO reported that machinery and transport equipment imports in May dropped by 0.8pc along with other commodities compared to the previous month.
