Non-ferrous exports from the Czech Republic climbed 25pc for aluminum scrap and 22pc for copper scrap in the first seven months of the year, according to the country’s Customs data.
Aluminum scrap exports stood at 44,408mt in Jan-Jul compared to 35,583mt in the same period of the year prior, while copper scrap shipments from the Czech Republic increased to 41,141mt from 33,783mt.

In July, the country exported 5,880mt of the material, a 17pc surge from 5,046mt in the same month of last year. Germany was the largest importer, despite a 1pc decline to 1,388mt in July from 1,407mt in the same year-ago period.
Copper scrap
The Czech Republic exported 5,347mt of the commodity in July, down by 10pc from 5,960mt in the same month last year. Germany again was the leading importer, with a 2pc decrease to 2,513mt this July from 2,568mt in the previous year.
