Ferrous scrap exports from the Czech Republic rose by 15.99pc in the first half of the year to 1.28mn mt against 1.11mn mt of the same period last year according to the country’s Customs data. 

  

The country also exported 12pc more of the commodity in June at 229,235mt compared to 204,828mt in the same month of the year prior. On a monthly basis, exports were nearly flat from 227,093mt in May. 

 

Germany was the largest importer of ferrous scrap from the country with a 10pc increase to 108,370mt in June from 98,555mt in June 2020. Italy was in second place, moving up 13pc to 49,592mt from 44,052mt within the same period.
