Davis Index: Market Intelligence for the Global Metals and Recycled Materials Markets

Car production in the Czech Republic increased by 2.8pc to 128,754 units in October on an annual basis, recording its first positive month for auto production since February.

The country’s Automotive Industry Association – AutoSap – noted that the industry is now recovering from the production lag caused by the COVID-19 shutdowns. In fact, Zdenek Petzl, executive director at AutoSap, said that supply factors are also rebounding. However, he noted that labor, or the lack of it, remained a major pain point since some restrictions are still in place.

Despite the positive performance in October, production over the first 10 months of the year still fell short by 21pc compared to last year, tallying at 941,486 units.
