Production of cars and commercial vehicles declined by 30pc and 8.3pc, respectively, in the Czech Republic during the first seven months of this year on an annual basis.
The country produced 586,333 cars in January-July 2020, down from 834,247 units in the prior-year period. Commercial vehicle output declined to 2,728 units, compared with 2,976 vehicles in the same period under comparison.
Of the national car output, German automaker Skoda held two-thirds of the market share with 390,933 cars produced in the January-July period.
This market’s recovery continues to occur at a very slow pace after the COVID-19 pandemic caused a 35pc decline in production during the first five months of the year compared with January-May 2019.
