Canada’s mining exploration and development company, Crown Mining Corp, is set to take its US Copper project into the production phase. The Moonlight-Superior Copper project in California has resources of over 2bn lb of copper. However, the company has not disclosed actual copper volumes for extraction.
Steve Dunn, CEO, said Crown is preparing its 2021 drilling program and aims to supply copper to US domestic markets.
The company statement comes after US President Joe Biden’s executive order to review and strengthen domestic supply chains for critical goods. These goods are divided into four groups that include crucial minerals and large capacity batteries for electric vehicles.
