Seasonally adjusted production in construction rose by 3.5pc in the EU in June 2021 against the year-ago month while it fell by 1.2pc compared to May, according to Eurostat.
Building construction in the EU increased by 3.8pc in June 2021 as civil engineering grew by 2.6pc, both compared to June 2020. Although, building construction declined by 1.4pc as civil engineering rose by 0.4pc in June 2021 against the preceding month.
Construction rose by 14pc in Q2 2021 against the prior year’s quarter as building and civil engineering construction climbed by 14.7pc and 10.4pc, respectively, in the same timeframe.
Total construction rose by 0.8pc in Q2 compared to Q1 with building construction rising by 0.7p and civil engineering by 1.4pc in the same period comparison.
Inflation & GDP
The EU annual inflation rate increased by 2.5pc in July 2021 against the 2.2pc gain experienced in June, according to Eurostat data.
The seasonally adjusted GDP climbed by 1.9pc in the EU in Q2 2021 following a decline of 0.3pc in Q1, both compared to the preceding quarter.
