Aluminium rolled products manufacturer Constellium shipped 1.58mn mt of aluminium products in 2019, up by 3.6pc from 1.53mn mt in the prior year. In the fourth quarter (Q4), total shipments dropped by 2,000mt to 368,000mt from the prior quarter as shipments to the aerospace and transportation segment declined.

 

In 2019, Constellium’s total aluminium product shipments rose led by a 5.6pc increase in supplies to the Packaging and Automotive Rolled Product industry (P&ARP). Shipments of P&ARP segment were 1.09mn mt from 1.04mn mt in 2018. 

 

Supply to the P&ARP industry rose marginally in the fourth quarter, by 1,000mt to 255,000mt from the prior year period. Shipments to the automotive industry were higher than those to the packaging industry.

 

Constellium’s shipments to the Aerospace and Transportation industry, however, dropped by 1.6pc to 242,000mt in 2019 from the previous year and dropped by 3,000mt to 56,000mt in the last quarter of 2019 from the prior year period.

 

Shipments to the Automotive Structures and Industry increased marginally by 1,000mt to 250,000mt in 2019 from the previous year and remained unchanged at 57,000mt in the last quarter of 2019 from the prior year period.

 

For 2019, Constellium’s posted net income of €64mn ($69.23mn), down by 64pc from €190mn in 2018. Net income for Q4 was €22mn an increased compared to a net loss of €57mn in the same period a year ago.
